I play several instruments and have recorded with a band. However, the music we made together needed mixing so, taking on the role of mixer/engineer, I set about practicing mixing using Apple Loops in GarageBand. Other band members enjoyed the results of my practicing and so I put together my first album of Apple Loops ‘eins’, released in Oct 2018.

Apart from 'Build That Anthill', the Apple Loops album that gave me the most satisfaction was ‘vier (Der Graf von Hambühren)’, inspired by one of my all-time musical heroes, Klaus Schulze. Following various searches, I seem to be the only artist on Bandcamp using Loops with any sort of consistency (I'm happy to be corrected on this last point as I'd really like to hear what other artists make of the possibilities).

I also make music using conventional instruments - for example, ‘Thirteen’, a classic rock band set-up and incorporating astronaut dialogue from the ill-fated Apollo 13 flight (from the album ‘Journeys’), and longer ambient tracks such as ‘Australian Dawn Chorus’, one 45 minute track of ambient music added to the sounds of a morning walk through the Australian Rainforest.
